Chapter 9
Neverland
In July 1988, Michael decided to
buy his own house. He bought a large Californian house, with a lot of land, and
it cost around seventeen million dollars. Michael called his new home ‘
Neverland ‘ . Neverland is a place in the famous children’s book, Peter Pan .
For years, Michael had loved this story , and he started to make Neverland into
a children’s dream home.
Michael often invited groups of
sick children to come to Neverland and enjoy all the rides and games. ‘ When I
am with them, the music comes to me easily ‘ , he said. ‘ When I am tired or
bored , children make me feel better’.
