Thriller
and the Moonwalk
In the early 1980s, the music
world was changing. It was a 14 minute scary movie, with music and dancing!
Thriller was amazing in lots of ways. Again, Michael had written several song
himself. The making of Thriller wasn’t always smooth. And he had more amazing
surprises for his millions of fans. In 1983, Motown records was twenty-five
years old, and there were plans for a celebration on TV. After singing a song
with his brothers. The first notes of ‘
Billie Jean ‘ started playing, and Michael threw his hat across the stage. And
then he started to dance. His feet were
going back but it seemed that he was moving forward at the same time. This amazing
dance was called the ‘ moonwalk ‘
1984, was great year for Michael.
He won eight awards at the Grammy, America’s biggest music awards. He was given
a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And he was even given a special award by
US President Ronald Reagan at the White House.
